Answer: Griffin was completely invisible until he happened to step in some mud, which caused him to leave footprints as he walked. Two boys noticed these footprints and followed him as long as the prints were visible. Griffin,on getting rid of them, went into a big London store to put on some warm clothes.
After the store was shut, he got himself dressed in an overcoat and a wide-brimmed hat.He also put on a pair of shoes. This made him visible to the people who came to work at the store the next day.
Q2. Why was he wandering the streets?
Answer: He was wandering in the streets because he was homeless after being ejected by the landlord. He set the house on fire.

Q1. Why does Mrs Hall find the scientist eccentric?
Answer: The arrival of a stranger with an uncommon appearance at an inn in mid-winter was an unusual event in itself. Mrs Hall tried to be friendly with Griffin, but he gave her a cold response. He rebuffed her by saying that he was not interested to talk to anyone and had come there for solitude and did not wish to be disturbed in his work. Considering all these reasons, Mrs Hall found the scientist to be an eccentric person.

Answer: Very early one morning, a clergyman and his wife were awakened by noises coming from their study. Then they heard the sound of coins being taken from the desk there. However, when they entered the study, they did not find anybody there, which was curious.

Answer: The scientist was a cold person since the first interaction with Mrs Hall. They never disturbed or interrupted him. But one day his door was open, and they felt it was a good opportunity to peep into. The clothes on the bed were cold and the scientist was up for some time.
Mrs Hall’s attention was drawn to the hat that had slammed into her face after she felt a sniff near to her ear. Followed by that the chair became alive and sprang into the air towards her. She and her husband dashed out of the room and slammed the door behind them. They were terrified, and they fled for their lives.

Answer: Griffin was rather a lawless person. He set fire to a house which did not belong to him, He took away clothes from the store without paying for them, He hit a shopkeeper and stole his money. He stole money from the clergyman’s house also, He also struck Mr. Jaffers, the constable, on duty.
Q2. How would you assess Griffin as a scientist?
Answer: After repeated experiments, Griffin had discovered how to make the human body invisible. This was a big achievement. However, he misused his discovery for personal gains and for hurting others. Thus, though he can be termed as a brilliant scientist, he was not a noble one.

Q1. Would you like to become invisible? What advantages and disadvantages do you foresee, if you did?
Answer: Yes, it would be an exciting idea for most people to become invisible. Just like there are two facets of every coin, invisibility can also have certain advantages and disadvantages. A prime advantage of becoming invisible for military personnel could help them in maintaining law and order in the society by tracking illegal crimes caused by anti-social elements without their knowledge and put an end to the nuisance created by terrorists or criminals.
On a lighter note, for a child being invisible is an open license to play pranks on his friends without getting caught. On the other hand, a disadvantage of invisibility would mean isolation and having no friends and family to share joys and sorrows with. A person is likely to become like the eccentric scientist, Griffin, as mentioned in this story.
Q2. Are there forces around us that are invisible, for example, magnetism? Are there aspects of matter that are ‘invisible’ or not visible to the naked eye? What would the world be like if you could see such forces or such aspects of matter?
Answer: Magnetic forces and electrostatic forces are examples of invisible forces. The atoms and molecules in a matter are so small that they are not visible to the naked eye. Similarly, heat energy is invisible. Similarly, sound is invisible to us. While the idea of seeing invisible things can be very exciting, their visibility would create too many problems. For example, if we are able to see all the sound around us, that would be too irritating for us.
Q3. What makes glass or water transparent (what is the scientific explanation for this)? Do you think it would be scientifically possible for a man to become invisible, or transparent? (Keep in mind that mwriters of science fiction have often turned out to be prophetic in their imagination!)
Answer: Water contains free electrons that allow light to pass through it. Since no light is reflected, we see no colour and it is transparent. I do not think it is possible for the human body to be transparent since it is composed of various complex cells and to make that vast variety of cells invisible isn’t quite possible.
