Answer: Shahid said a few words, which very clearly showed that he was feared by death. The words are, “Oh dear! His realisation of death became clear and stronger to him as his memory lapses became serious.

Answer: Shahid and Amitav were familiar with each other since their college days. When Shahid came to stay in a building a few blocks away from the writer’s in Brooklyn both came closer.
